Thankful K-Mart is Open Thanksgiving Day

We can all be thankful on Thanksgiving Day that K-Mart is open. The pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock seeking freedom from religious persecution so that K-Mart could be open on Thanksgiving Day. I don't know about you but to ME it's crucial to take the K-Mart workers away from their families so that I can buy some Martha Stewart towels on Thanksgiving morning or buy some TideĀ® on sale. Call me old fashioned, call me white trash but I think the world could go on if K-Mart was closed for Thanksgiving. K-Mart is very important, I know, but I think we could do without all the stuff that K-Mart provides...for one day. Don't you? After all, the pilgrims didn't have a K-Mart and they were fine. Talk to me, my WT bloggers!

Target is closed, and that is all that I am worried about! Though the idea of having someplace to escape to while menfolk sprawl all over the house does hold some appeal.

One time many moons ago when we still had a Kmart in town I ran out of film. I don't think my 11 year old was even born yet. If she was she was little. Anyhow, I remember running to Kmart and getting film. I also remember there not being a soul in the store. Not worth the poor employees leaving their families. Not even for my film.

I hope the K mart by my house is closed. Nobody is ever in there anyway. Keeping people away from their families for an empty store is really crappy!

What the f*ck do you need to run into Kmart for on Thanksgiving Day? Will the Earth melt if we run out of Martha Stewart towels, Jacklyn Smith sweaters or sporting goods? And then some of these poor employees will have to return early the next morning for the horrid after-Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday) sales. Disgusting.

Or had family over you cant stand and needed to get away for a bit? K-mart run is the perfect excuse.

I like the idea of getting away from the football fest on Thanksgiving day but K-Mart is not my top choice for a getaway. I just think that it is a bad thing to keep the peeps away from their families while the store is EMPTY. I am a capitalist and everything BUT I'll be the K-Mart CEO and VPs aren't working that day....

Totally with you on this one! Seriously, how many shopping opportunities do people need? My God people, the internet is open 24/7.

I also find it disgusting that the new trend this year is Thanksgiving Midnight Madness sales-that's right, select stores in my area will be opening at 12:01 am on Black Friday. So you can get a tryptophan-induced nap, and then get in some late night/early morning shopping.

It's crazy.

My DH worked at K-Mart years and years ago and had to work on Thanksgiving Day and it SUCKED!

K-Mart will probally spend more money on saleries, lights, water, ect than they will make in sales!

It's declaired a national holiday for a reason: To let poeple be with their familes.

Whatever happened to the Good Old Days when families spent the Holidays together????? I for one love Football and love to hang out with my family....something I dont' get the chance to do often. I don't see any reason for K-mart or Walmart (which where I live only closes Christmas day)to stay open...what could possibly have to get on Thanksgiving day that you couldn't get on any other day???? I don't think it is fair to have people working needlessly when their families are at home. And people wonder why our societies family values are falling apart....

okay, let's talk.

I just need a 7-11 in case we need whipped cream or batteries. other than that...the movies must be open for the evening shows. There is only so much football one WT Mamma can take.

I agree! I can maybe see grocery stores and gas stations being open, but K-Mart? People need to have the chance to be with their families on Thanksgiving.

Somehow I don't think turning off the Blue Light for one day will be the Martha Stewart that broke K-Mart's back.
